Notes from the First Sunday of Advent

It was like an angel was in our midst. The music coming from her beautiful harp was heavenly. As we learned at our time with youth, there were no girl or children angels in the Bible, still the harp music of Nanette Felix was other-worldly.

There is more heavenly music to come this month. Our Children's Choir sings December 15th. The Adult Choir Cantata will be presented December 22nd. Guest soloist, Nick Janitzky, will be with us in the Christmas Eve Service at 5:30. An old-fashioned Carol Sing will be the basis for our worship on December 29th. Sounds like Angels will be hovering around and among us!

In my Sunday morning message on December 1st, I suggested that we take fifteen minutes each day in Advent to examine who we are, who we are in Christ and where Christ may be leading us. Fifteen minutes can seem like a long time on a busy day! But the sacrifice will pay off. It is not too late to join me in this discipline. Hope you are following through and making progress in your relationship with Emmanuel as we continue to wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
